Bio
Samuel Duarte . 32 anos . Natural do Fundão.
From a very young age, he always felt a passion for cooking, through the cooking of his mother and grandmother, who always tried to pass on to him the traditions of traditional Portuguese cuisine, mainly its roots, from their region, Beira Baixa.
His journey in the kitchen began in 2009 when he entered the course at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Fundão, which appeared through the acquaintance of his friends who studied there, and when an opportunity arose to be able to enter, he rolled up his sleeves, and off he went.
During the period in which he studied it, he achieved two wins, one at CS Herdade dos Salgados and another at Pestana Porto Santo (All inclusive).
At the end of 2015, he decided to move to the capital, where the job offer was significantly higher.
With success, he quickly got a job at Plateform, to open the new Delidelux restaurant.
After that challenge, he was invited by Chef Luís Gaspar to participate in other projects such as the opening of Restaurante Casa Lisboa and later Restaurante Sala de Corte.
These days, you can find him in one of Chef Luís Gaspar's most recent bets at the Pica Pau Restaurant, where he serves typical Portuguese cuisine, and where he can, in some way, return to his roots, even far from home.
