The Architect of Atmosphere
Designed by Samuel Torres de Carvalho, memmo Príncipe Real was conceived as a contemporary response to one of Lisbon’s most historic neighbourhoods. Its bold geometry, carefully selected materials and panoramic relationship with the city create a distinctive architectural identity, where contemporary design and a strong sense of place come together.
A Royal Reimagined
A contemporary reinterpretation of D. Pedro V, inspired by Franz Xaver Winterhalter’s 1854 portrait. Positioned at the hotel entrance, the work creates an immediate connection with the history and identity of Príncipe Real, bringing a royal figure from the past into a contemporary setting.
Whimsy in Stillness
One central painting at Café Príncipe Real and 41 individual fragments, each placed in one of the hotel’s guest rooms, form a work that is revealed in different ways throughout the stay. Together, they connect the hotel’s shared and private spaces through a single artistic narrative.
