Curadoria Cuca Roseta
In Alfama, fado plays in the background, like the soundtrack of a movie that takes place in the streets and alleys of Lisbon's most typical neighborhood. And it is in the lyrics of this fado that so much of the history of this authentic and genuine place is written, framed by the orange roofs and the blue of the Tejo River.
And now it is possible to enjoy all this on the terrace of the memmo Alfama, with a special curatorship designed by the hands of the fado singer Cuca Roseta. This curatorship has renowned resident artists such as the fado singer Zé da Câmara, the great Mário Pacheco on the Portuguese guitar and Pedro Pinhal on the fado guitar.
The confident and immersive guitar and music composition of Mário Pacheco is no accident. It reflects years of dedication, commitment and special affection for musical art and in particular for fado, grounded in a family tradition.
Son of guitarist António Pacheco who accompanied some of the greatest fadistas, he soon began to unravel the mysteries of the guitar's trill and the melodic paths of fado composition. He accompanied great Portuguese fado singers, including names such as Amália Rodrigues, Carlos do Carmo and Mariza. In 2006, he was awarded by the Amália Rodrigues foundation as Best Composer and in 2012 he was made Commander of the Order of Infante D. Henrique.
Zé da Câmara, a fado singer raised in the midst of a family where music was always at the table. Also for this reason, he started singing at a very young age, having already spent more than 36 years in his career and having performed in several European countries, in the most important concert halls. He was also part of Clube do fado, one of the main fado houses in Lisbon.
Pedro Pinhal, a renowned artist with long years of consolidated career, in which he accompanied great fadistas in the biggest concert halls in Europe.
