How can I contact the hotel?

How can I contact the reservation department?

What is your cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy depends on the selected rate. The hotel offers rates with flexible cancellation up to 72 hours before check-in, as well as stricter, non-refundable rates at a lower price.

Will I need to pay a deposit?

For non-refundable reservations, the full amount of the stay is charged at the time of booking.
For refundable reservations, the first night's stay will be charged 3 days before arrival.

Will my credit card be charged before arrival

Yes. For non-refundable reservations, the full amount of the stay is charged at the time of booking.
For refundable reservations, the first night's stay will be charged 3 days before arrival.

Are taxes included in the room rate?

All applicable taxes are included in our room rates, except for the Lisbon City Tax.
The City Tax applies to guests staying in Lisbon and is charged 4€ per person, per night, for a maximum of seven consecutive nights.

I need to change or cancel my reservation.

If you made your reservation directly with memmo Unforgettable Hotels, please contact our Reservations team by email at reservations.alfama@memmohotels.com or use our guest area.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. Please note that bank cheques are not accepted.

Do you offer special offers or packages?

Yes. Throughout the year, memmo Alfama offers seasonal promotions, exclusive packages and special rates designed for different types of stays. For the latest offers, please visit our offers page.

Can I purchase a gift voucher?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available for stays and experiences at memmo Alfama and can be purchased through our official website.

Where is memmo Alfama located?

Memmo Alfama is located at Travessa das Merceeiras, 27, 1100-348 Lisbon, Portugal, in the Alfama neighbourhood.

How to get to the hotel by public transport?

From Lisbon Airport:
Take the Red Metro Line towards São Sebastião.
Change at Alameda to the Green Line towards Cais do Sodré.
Get off at Baixa-Chiado.
Walk to Praça Luís de Camões.
Take Tram 12E and get off at Limoeiro.
Walk along Travessa das Merceeiras to reach memmo Alfama.

Do you provide airport transfers?

Yes. Our Front Desk team will be happy to assist you in arranging a private transfer. Please contact us before your arrival.

Does the hotel have parking?

No, memmo Alfama does not have private parking. We recommend the nearby Chão do Loureiro Car Park, located just a short walk from the hotel. Parking spaces cannot be reserved and are subject to availability.

Where can I charge my electric vehicle?

Memmo Alfama, does not have an electric charger for electric vehicles.

Can I rent a bicycle during my stay?

Yes. Our Front Desk team will be happy to assist you with bicycle rental arrangements.

What time is check-in?

Check-in is available from 3:00 pm.

What time is check-out?

Check-out is until 12:00 pm (noon).

Do I need to present identification?

Yes, all guests are required to present a valid photo ID or passport upon check-in, in accordance with Portuguese legislation.

Is early check-in / late check-out available?

No. Early check-in is only available by booking the previous night in full, and late check-out by booking the following night in full.

My flight arrives late. Can I still check in?

Yes. Our Front Desk is available 24 hours a day, so you can check in at any time.

Can I store my luggage before check-in?

Yes. We will be happy to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out.

Does the hotel have a lift?

Yes, the hotel has a lift.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Does the hotel have room service?

Yes, memmo Alfama room service is available from 7:30AM until 11PM for drinks and from 7:30AM until 10:30PM for food.

Does the hotel have a meeting room?

Memmo Alfama does not have a dedicated meeting room. However, our private terrace can be reserved for small gatherings and private events. For availability and pricing, please contact terrace.alfama@memmohotels.com

Does the hotel offer a laundry service?

Yes. A laundry service is available.
Please complete the laundry form located in your wardrobe and contact the Front Desk to arrange collection. As laundry service is external, your clothes will only be delivered 24 hours late. The laundry service does not operate on public holidays and weekends, so delivery may take longer than usual.

Can I request an iron for my room?

Yes, it’s possible to request an iron for your room.

Does the hotel offer a wake-up service?

Yes, please contact the Front Desk to arrange a wake-up call.

Can I send a parcel to the hotel?

Yes. Please contact our Front Desk before sending any parcels so we can assist you with the delivery.

Does the hotel have a App or WebApp?

Yes, we have both. Guests can access our WebApp to find useful information about the hotel and discover available services and experiences. The WebApp can be accessed online without downloading any application. You can also download our App on play stores.

Does the hotel have a swimming pool?

Yes, memmo Alfama features a heated outdoor swimming pool overlooking the rooftops of Alfama and the Tagus River.

What are the swimming pool opening hours?

Our pool is open 24h per day.

Are pool towels provided?

Yes, pool towels are provided for all hotel guests.

Does the hotel have a children's pool?

No, as memmo Alfama welcomes guests aged 16 and over, the hotel does not have a children's pool.

Does the hotel have a spa?

No, memmo Alfama does not have a wellness centre or spa.

Does the hotel have a gym?

Yes, a gym is available for hotel guests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How many rooms does memmo Alfama have?

Memmo Alfama has 42 rooms, spread across seven carefully designed room categories, many of them offering views over Alfama or the Tagus River. You can find them here.

Do you have interconnecting rooms?

Unfortunately, memmo Alfama does not have interconnecting rooms.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes, memmo Alfama has one room specially adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
If you require this room, please contact our Front Desk in advance.

Do you have rooms with a balcony?

Our Terrace Rooms have a terrace where you can sit back, sip wine, and watch the sun rise over the river.

Do you have rooms with river views?

All our room categories (with the exception of the Alfama Standard Room) offer river views. In the Mansard rooms, you simply need to climb a small step to enjoy the view.

Are baby cots available?

No. Memmo Alfama welcomes guests aged 16 and over, so the hotel does not have baby cots available.

Can I request a specific room or floor?

You are welcome to let us know your preferences when making your reservation. While we cannot guarantee specific room numbers or floors, we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.

Can I request an extra bed?

No, Extra beds are not available at memmo Alfama.

Do the rooms have coffee making facilities?

At memmo Alfama, only Premium Rooms have tea & coffee station available.

Do the rooms have a hairdryer?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with a hairdryer.

Do the rooms have air conditioning?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

How often are the rooms cleaned?

Rooms are serviced daily between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Do all rooms have a safe?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with an in-room safe for your valuables.

Do the rooms have a TV?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV.

Are toiletries provided?

Yes, complimentary toiletries are provided in all rooms.

Is breakfast included?

We offer both Bed & Breakfast and Room Only rates, so you can choose the option that best suits your stay. All available rate options can be found on our Offers page when booking directly through our website.

What are the breakfast hours?

Breakfast is served daily from 7:30am to 11:00am.

Is breakfast served as a buffet?

Yes, breakfast is served as a buffet. However, there is also a menu of eggs, side dishes and pancakes that you can order without extra costs.

Can I have breakfast even if I haven't booked

Yes, you can have breakfast even if you haven’t booked a Bed & Breakfast rate. Our breakfast is 20€ per person per day of your stay.

Does the hotel have a restaurant?

Memmo Alfama features the Wine Bar & Terrace, where guests can enjoy a selection of Portuguese-inspired dishes, wines and cocktails.

Can non-guests visit the Wine Bar & Terrace?

Yes, the Wine Bar & Terrace is open to both hotel guests and non-guests, subject to availability.

Opening hours of the Wine Bar & Terrace?

The Wine Bar & Terrace is open daily from 12:00pm to 11:00pm.

Can I book a table?

You can check our menu on our website or on our app.

Is memmo Alfama an adults-only hotel?

Yes, memmo Alfama welcomes guests aged 16 and over. Due to the hotel's unique architecture, including several terraces, it is designed exclusively for adults and teenagers aged 16+ looking for a peaceful stay in the heart of Lisbon.

Is smoking allowed?

No. memmo Alfama is a non-smoking hotel. This policy also applies to electronic cigarettes and vaping devices.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not permitted at memmo Alfama.

Can the hotel help me book activities?

Yes, our Front Desk team will be happy to assist with restaurant reservations, tours, transport, cultural experiences and activities during your stay.

Can I hire a car through the hotel?

Yes, our Front Desk team can assist with arranging car hire.

Can the hotel arrange private transfers?

Yes, our Front Desk team can assist with arranging taxis or private transfers.
