At high tide, the beach almost vanishes, but the wild energy remains. **Distance:** 15 minutes by car **Directions:** From Vila do Bispo, follow signs towards the "beaches". Carry on along the tarmac road for about 4km until you reach the turning for Castelejo beach. Remote and untamed, Ponta Ruiva is reached via unmarked dirt roads and is best accessed with a 4x4.
